Your Hosts

Laura and Kevin have been residents of Colorado for decades, having moved here as soon as they had the savings and sense to quit their jobs, throw everything in a U-Haul and hit the road west. From a first hike in the foothills near metro-Denver to today’s hikes in the high country, it’s been a love affair with the beauty of Colorado. As avid day hikers, they’ve explored many areas of the state but for some reason have become entranced with the beauty of the roughly 500-mile-long Colorado Trail. The trail runs from the west edge of metro-Denver across the state to the southwest to Durango. The 28 segments of trail wend through forests, wilderness areas, along ridges and high plateaus above treeline, and even across a couple of ski areas’ runs!

Laura and Kevin have experience creating websites, publishing books and, in Laura’s case, even producing a feature-length documentary film. Here are some highlights:

Laura’s travel website: www.thewelltraveledfridge.com

Kevin’s gold prospecting website: www.findinggoldincolorado.com including books: www.findinggoldincolorado.com/fgicbooks/

Laura’s documentary film: www.strongsisters.org

We hope you enjoy our work on this website and look forward to meeting you out on the trail!

I'm an avid gold prospector, hiker and traveler. I am the author of a series of books about gold in Colorado - both the historical landmarks worth visiting and the modern day prospecting opportunities. The series called “Finding Gold In Colorado” and can be found in stores across Colorado and on Amazon.
